Background

Phil founded his own practice, Phil McMaster Pty Ltd, in Canberra in 1981, and is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Phil has worked throughout Africa, Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Fiji, Namibia, United Kingdom, and Portugal and is currently working in Vanuatu. He has completed over 2,000 projects.

These projects range from heritage conservation, the master planning of new towns, freeways, railways and other infrastructure, national parks and resorts to the design and documentation of most building types including commercial, housing, heritage and national park buildings.

Landscape architectural and land use planning projects include heritage landscapes, environmental impact statements, freeway and road corridors, pedestrian access planning and inclusion guidelines, underground transport, environmental rehabilitation, vegetation guidelines, parks and gardens, signage and urban furniture.
